UMR Connects: Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistant: Providers Helping to Heal the U.S. Healthcare System

  • University of Minnesota - Rochester 111 South Broadway Rochester, MN, 55904 United States (map)

Health care in the United States is in a constant state of change. As part of that change, people entering the health care system now and in the future will encounter and be cared for by a variety of non-physician licensed providers. These providers include nurses, pharmacist, therapist and others. The focus of today’s discussion will be on Advance Practice Clinicians (APC”S) or Physician Assistants (PA-C) and Advance Practice Nurses (APRN). We will discuss their role in health care, their scope of practice and the obstacles they face. In light of the growing and anticipated national physician shortage, these providers will be a growing part of the future of health care.

Are you looking for something FREE, interesting, and fun to do in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, on a Tuesday night? Following a specific theme each month, the UMR CONNECTS professional speaker series will connect you to speakers, authors, panels, and more! All events are free and open to the public, and no registration is required. We hope you will join us!
